Conversations

Despite the fact that I write this blog and I'm on Facebook, I'm really a one-on-one kind of guy. I much prefer having face to face conversations with people. I guess the raw conversations make me feel like the relationship is honest, like I'm being given the privilege of looking through a window to the person's soul; into the depth of their heart.

It's generally true that the closer we feel to someone, the more we are willing to open up with our true thoughts and feelings. Of course, the opposite is also true that the less we trust someone the more likely we'll hide our thoughts and feelings.

Often, I have asked someone if they have told God lately how they feel. It's interesting how many times they have said, "Not yet." I wonder why? Maybe it's because we think the things that matter to us are not important to God. Or maybe it's because we're too ashamed of some failure to bring it before a Holy God. When it comes right down to it, maybe we don't think God can handle our prayers?

Have you ever found yourself instinctively picking up the phone to call a friend for advice instead of God? For some reason it seems more natural to turn to people as a "first line of defense" than it is to turn to God. But I suspect God actually appreciates it when one of His children simply tells Him what's on their heart.

Have you ever considered the kind of situations Jesus thought were conducive for prayer?

Jesus prayed whenever He faced important decisions: (Luke 6:12-16)

Jesus prayed when He needed strength for His work. (Mark 1:33-39)

Jesus prayed when He was concerned about people He loved. (Luke 22:31)

Jesus prayed when He faced an insurmountable problem. (Luke 22:39-44)

Clearly, Jesus believed that prayer included everything He experienced in life, no exceptions. Our prayer lives will never become relevant or transformational until we include God in the every day details of our lives. The practice of telling God everything is not selfish preoccupation, but in fact is a sign that we have begun to grasp His nearness and His love.

And I mean everything!

The Peace of God

"You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You." (Isa. 26:3)

We are living in a world that is full of trouble. We see so much unrest, hatred, and uncertainty all around us. What we are seeing is the true condition of the heart.

With so many natural and man made  disasters in the world, one wonders if it could get any worse. How am I going to survive? How can I find true peace in this world? What many people do not realize is that they can not experience true peace until they have an encounter withe Prince of Peace. Who died on the cross so that all our sins can be forgiven, and only then can we understand His way of life that leads us to His peace.

Dr. Billy Graham once wrote in his book called "Peace With God" that unless you have peace with God, you  can't have peace in your heart. God loves you and wants you to have peace and joy in your life through a relationship with Jesus  Christ.

Since I started my ministry in 1996, the theme of my personal life has been to "Be simple, clean, and fruitful." This formula has greatly enriched my physical and spiritual life. I am aware that what has worked for me may not work for you, but allow me to suggest that when you combine a clear mind and a clean heart heart with creative hands the results can be amazing.

Someone once said, "There may be those on earth who dress better or eat better, but those who enjoy the peace of God sleep better." That is so true. King Solomon wrote, "...for he grants sleep to those he loves." (Psalm 127:2)

True joy and peace is not the result of the world's economic GDP factor, but the outcome of a Spirit filled and Spirit lead life.

Prayer Requests

Pray for a spirit of unity among Christian groups, that they would be kingdom-minded and willing to share resources.
Pray that God will continue to work mightily in the land of India in 2012 through AIM.
Pray for God's grace day by day. Satan is working overtime to discourage all of us and to prevent the vital work of this and many other ministries working within India.
